1975 Pink Lady
The Name That Lives On
You may have ended up somewhere else on your way here.
This is by design.
Inherent_sweetness is the Instagram handle of my closest friend. My hope is that people continue to visit her page, even if accidentally, to help keep her memory alive.
I named the business after her. I named my flagship product after her.
If I had any more children, I would probably name them after her.
After watching her monumental struggle with cancer, I hope to imbue her strength into every aspect of my life.
The First Bar
When I made my very first bar of soap, I called it 1975 Pink Lady — her birth year and the color that stands for the disease. She laughed loud, loved deeply, and fought even harder. Pink felt right, not only for what it stands for, but for who she was: strong, warm, and full of light.
I didn’t set out to build a business when I made that first bar. I just needed to do something with my hands. I wanted to make something beautiful at a time when everything around me felt broken. Sea moss became the base because it was something already bringing healing into my life. Something living and restorative. Something real.
That first batch wasn’t perfect, but it was honest. I still keep one of those early bars to remind myself where this all began. When I held it, I realized it wasn’t just soap. It was a way to keep her close.
A Color That Meant More
Every 1975 Pink Lady bar I make is still made in her honor.
The color pink now carries a second meaning, a quiet stand for breast-cancer awareness. It’s not official yet, but my goal is for part of this soap’s proceeds to help support women fighting the same battle she did. Whether it’s through awareness, donations, or even just conversations that make someone book a doctor’s visit, I want it to matter.
Keeping Her Memory Alive
I called this company Inherent Sweetness because that was her, through and through. And I kept her Instagram handle alive in the name on purpose. So that when people search for “Inherent Sweetness,” they might find her page. They might see her smile, her children, her life. Even by accident, they’ll remember her.
If you came looking for soap and found her instead, that’s exactly what I hoped would happen.
You can find the 1975 Pink Lady bar in our shop — still made in her honor.
